Tastings and Bridals Dresses!!
Now that the wedding is one year away we really need to pick up the planning on this project and actually we are less than one year away now! But just because you haven't heard from me doesn't mean progress hasn't been made. Julz and Tom have been steadily finalizing plans for their special day.
The guest list has been narrowed down to a fairly tight list of 175 or so family and friends. The project this month is to mail the "Save-the-Dates" out to everyone. The actual graphic on this piece is just wonderful and really reflects the style of Julz and Tom and incorporates the theme of "Alice in Wonderful". Very whimsical and fun looking!!
This week also included an evening to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for a tasting by the caterer, Meriwether-Godsey at the Robins Visitors Center. This event was wonderful! Julz, Tom, Ali, Camille and I attended from 6 - 7:30. We enjoyed a great sampling of the cocktail and dinner menu offered including roast beef, pork loin, ham, a tasty bean dish and yummy cake!! And they even sent us home with two boxes of treats for Bob and our house guest, Hunter, since they couldn't attend.
We are a bit ahead of the game on menu planning which is a great position to be in .... a planning date will be made for January 2011 to meet with Barbara from Meriwether-Godsey to make the exact plans for the actual event and menu.
Next step is gown shopping ..... Julz has an appointment scheduled for Saturday, July 31 at Bella Rosa in Richmond, Virginia. We are also planning to arrange for an appointment at Anne Gregory in Pittsburgh. We have been good friends with the folks at Anne Gregory for years and look forward to spending time with them. Julz has a few ideas on dresses but nothing is firmed up yet .... more to come on the dress subject.
